• Updated Cocoa Monkey blend: Over the winter we had the painful revelation that the Cocao Monkey mix lacked a certain… well it wasn’t as good as we’d like. So, we went back into the lab and taste tested countless varieties of cocoa powder (okay, it was like 5). After much deliberation we settled on a slightly darker, slightly higher cacao fat variety and we think it’s delicious. The Cocoa Monkey mix is still a little more of a fickle beast than our Original workhorse formula (translation: you can’t just dump random stuff into a blender and expect it to be tasty), and really works best with a milk base, but with the right recipe it really shines. Try starting with one of our awesome taste tested recipes before you go all Top Chef with it.
• New Address: As part of our bid to slowly take over the internet inch by inch, we’ve finally manged to procure the domain name www.monkeyshake.com. Yes! No more crazy hyphen needed when looking up your favorite recovery shake mix! Yes, the old address will still work. In fact so will www.monkey-shakes.com as well as ye old 1010monkeyshake.com. It’s exactly like the old “all roads lead to Rome” bit… Only different. Yes we realize this is is probably totally not exciting to anyone but us, but we though we should share anyway.
• New Packaging: We’ve revamped the packaging on our “Pack” of Monkey size. Instead of three two-serving bags you’ll get one six-serving bag. Sadly, this doesn’t save us any money but it does significantly reduce the amount of waste produced, which in our book is a good thing. The new bags are also nifty looking and should be easier to scoop out of.
• Getting social on the interwebs: We want to hear from loyal customers like you. Follow us on Twitter at@MonkeyShake2Go or Like us on Facebook and let us know what you think about our products. Your feedback makes us better. Also, it’s a little lonely on our Facebook page. Come say hi. Who knows, there might be promotions offered only on our Facebook page.

I was filling up the monkey-mobile the other day and I could feel a sharp stabbing pain when I went to pay. Let me tell you, it was a real pain in the butt (my back pocket being where I keep my wallet). But it left me asking myself: “Self, a lot of people are pinching pennies these days, isn’t there something we could do to help?”

“Well of course there is you dummy, we could drop the prices on Monkey Shake.” I said to myself.

“You know what, that’s a great idea!” I chimed in.

It was at this point I realized that everyone was staring at me. So I quickly hopped in my car and raced back to the office, where I marked down the prices on all our Monkey shake varieties and sizes.

As much as we would like to throw the doors wide open, set off some fireworks, and play a fanfare, we’ve encountered some technical limits on the extent to which we can test all our e-commerce systems prior to taking our first sale.
